Mixed Level

This class is taught by:

Chuck Blair

Chuck began practicing yoga in August of 2005 at the suggestion of a friend. As his practice progressed and grew to include meditation and pranyama he found awareness, peace and contentment that has changed his life. His greatest desire is to honor his teachers by sharing what he has experienced with others through teaching. Chuck took his first yoga teacher training at Blue Moon Yoga in 2007 and began teaching soon thereafter. In August of 2009, he took a 12-day teacher training with Dharma Mittra at the Omega Institute. He completed his Anusara teacher training with Carmel Calcagno and Dina Crosta in February 2012. He teaches an Anusara-inspired hatha yoga with alignment. He is alo trained in yoga nidra and leads sessions locally. Chuck felt an affinity for the sweet teachings of Tantric scholar Dr. Douglas Brooks the first time he studied with him. He has studied frequently with Douglas and traveled with him to Tamilnadu in southern India in December 2012. His experiences in India were amazing and will be working on him for a long time to come.

Christine Newby

Christine Newby, RYT 200, embarked on her teaching journey in January 2015 with YogaWorks in Los Angeles. She began teaching back home in New Jersey shortly thereafter, and quickly noticed how strongly she resonated with individuals who felt yoga was not “for them.” Those with injuries, limited mobility, and senior citizens were among her first students, and her education continued as she learned to teach bodies with different abilities than her own. Christine's classes are alignment based yet flow fluidly, always linking movement with the breath. She keeps safety foremost in her mind as she leads her classes while maintaining a fun, light-hearted attitude. Christine has furthered her 200 hour YogaWorks instruction with trainings in Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga, and is currently advancing her training to the 500-hour level. Christine believes in being an eternal student and is grateful for the guidance and knowledge each and every one of her amazing teachers continue to share.

Emily Huresky

Emily Huresky, E-RYT 500, was most likely one of the only students at The Rumson Country Day School whose mother often picked her up from school accompanied by a swami. Introduced to Eastern philosophy and meditation at an early age, she graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College in 1996 with a degree in religion. As a graduation present her aunt, a yoga teacher herself, sent Emily to yoga teacher training at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA. For the next several years Emily trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa and "power yoga." In 1999 Emily met John Friend and was instantly hooked by the physicality, precise alignment, therapeutics, and inspiring philosophy of Anusara yoga. In 2000 Emily co-founded Dancing Foot Yoga in Red Bank, NJ with certified Iyengar instructor and close friend, Robin Candrea. Emily continued to study closely with and regularly assist John Friend in his workshops across the country until 2005 when she decided to marry the love of her life, start a family, and dedicate her efforts to teaching yoga locally. She also served on the Anusara Certification committee for ten years. Emily skillfully incorporates her knowledge and love of both alignment and flow into her classes. She has experience teaching large public classes, semi-private classes, privates, therapeutic sessions, and trainings for teachers. Emily believes whole-heartedly in the power of yoga to transform people and change their lives in radically positive ways.

Marga Cava

Marga Cava, PhD, E-RYT 200, started practicing yoga in high school, and it quickly became an integral part of her life. While studying Romance languages and living abroad, she studied with Iyengar masters and Buddhist and Tantric philosophers. After returning to the U.S., Marga began studying Anusara yoga with John Friend, Emily Huresky, Regina Grassia, and others. Her gurus and their method inspired her to begin teaching in 1999. More recently, Marga completed Wisdom Warrior Teacher Training with Desirée Rumbaugh and Karen Church. Marga bows in gratitude to all her teachers (family and friends) that have guided her on her journey.
As a Registered Yoga Alliance and Anusara-inspired teacher, Marga strives to facilitate a deeper understanding of bio-mechanical alignment and help her students tap into their inner wisdom and true light. Now, as co-founder of Align Amar Yoga, yoga instructor and high school teacher, she hopes to enrich her community by offering the practice of yoga, meditation, and mindful living.

Drema Lindie

Drema began teaching yoga in 1997. She is a certified Integral Yoga Institute Yoga Teacher and a registered E-RYT through Yoga Alliance. Drema offers a disciplined style of yoga that is based in a scientific approach for body, breath, and mind. She loves teaching all practices of yoga, and currently teaches chair yoga, basic yoga and vinyasa yoga with special detail to alignment. Drema also offer yoga nidra classes (guided relaxation) and meditation.
